Not sure whether to file this under education, comedy, or fear mongering of the media, but CNN fails basic science in this clip about flyaway blimp belonging to NORAD. The helium filled dirigible came loose from it’s mooring, and floated 200 miles before descending on it’s own after slowing leaking some of it’s light than air gas, helium.
“There’s fear it could have exploded. There’s Helium inside, right?”, ponders CNN’s Wolf Blitzer.
It appears to be more than a brain fart on Wolf Blitzer’s part, when his co-host doubles down on the stupidity, claiming to quote a pentagon official.
“A NORAD official we spoke with says Helium, of course, has a flammable quality to it.”
Here’s a link to the video if you want a good laugh.
